Arsenal always seem to have an incredibly talented young player just waiting to make a name for themselves.
Bukayo Saka, Reiss Nelson and Emile Smith Rowe have played that role in recent years, while Ethan Nwaneri has been the name on everyone’s mind over the past 12 months.
However, just one year on from Nwaneri making history as the first 15-year-old to ever play in the Premier League, there’s another teenage sensation now making his name.
Indeed, Chido Obi-Martin made waves this week after netting 10 goals, yes 10, in a youth game against Liverpool.
As you can imagine, the hype is growing around Obi-Martin, and speaking on ShotsTV, Chris Wheatley has claimed that the teenager has actually been training with the Arsenal first-team lately.

Obi-Martin training with the senior side
Wheatley shared what he knows about the youngster.
“We don’t cover U16 football, but at the same time, scoring 10 goals in a game against Liverpool is incredible, in an away game against Liverpool as well. It is worth noting that this player, Obi-Martin has trained with Mikel Arteta’s first-team, he’s not just a 15-year-old who has come from out of nowhere. He has been involved at different age groups, and I don’t know if you’ve seen the highlights, but he looks levels above his age group, he looks like an exciting young talent, a really interesting player to look at,” Wheatley said.
One to watch
Obi-Martin certainly seems to be one to watch.
He’s only 15 years old, so we don’t want to go too over the top with this young lad, but 10 goals in a youth game is something you don’t see very often.
Let’s not forget that a certain Erling Haaland first made his name when scoring nine goals in a game for Norway in a youth match, and we know where he ended up.
Obi-Martin looks to be a very exciting talent, and he’s a player Arsenal fans should be keeping an eye out for in the coming years.
