Leeds United are set to be the latest side tasked with trying to end Chelsea’s unbeaten start to life under Thomas Tuchel when they host his side at Elland Road this weekend.
The Whites go into the game off the back of a disappointing run of form. Marcelo Bielsa’s side have now lost four of their last five.
The good news for Leeds is that that does not tell the entire story of their recent run. They have produced some incredibly bright performances, and had more than enough chances to win against West Ham on Monday.
And they will feel that they have a point to prove this weekend as they surely go into the clash as major underdogs.
Bielsa may actually be tempted to make some changes to his starting lineup. In fact, we are tentatively predicting that he could make three from Monday’s team.
Stuart Dallas was excellent in midfield at the London Stadium. His performance prompted a number of fans to praise him on social media. So he may well start in the middle this time around.
That could mean that Mateusz Klich gets a rest. The Poland international has not been as influential lately, so it could be an idea to bring him out.
Alongside Dallas may be Rodrigo Moreno. Rodrigo – who earns £57,000-a-week, according to Spotrac – came on for Tyler Roberts against the Irons following his return from injury.
Roberts has endured a frustrating run in the side. And it is probably fair to say that he did not manage to make the most of his opportunity.
Another player who has probably not grasped their chance with both hands is Helder Costa. Admittedly, he was a kneecap away from providing an assist on Monday.
But Jack Harrison’s energy and work-rate could make him particularly important against Chelsea.
With Klich dropping out, Gjanni Alioski may get to start at left-back. The North Macedonia international actually managed to make more key passes than any other player at West Ham – and he was only on the pitch for 45 minutes (via Whoscored).
With that in mind, here is the predicted lineup in full…
