Leeds predicted lineup against Crystal Palace: Bamford and Ayling start
Leeds United go into this weekend looking for their first win at Crystal Palace since March 2006 – and here is our predicted lineup for the trip to to Selhurst Park.
Leeds predicted lineup against Crystal Palace
Goals from Robbie Blake and Rob Hulse saw the Whites win more than 16 years ago. To put that into context, Archie Gray was born 12 days later.
Most of Jesse Marsch’s side will surely pick itself for the game against the Eagles. But the boss will have to make at least one change.
Bamford and Ayling to come in?
Of course, Luis Sinisterra will miss out. The winger was sent off against picking up two yellow cards against Aston Villa last weekend. So he will be unavailable.
Marsch has a number of options he could turn to. Crysencio Summerville is perhaps the obvious candidate given that he came on during the draw with the Villans. He is also the player who perhaps bares the most resemblance in style to Sinisterra.
However, perhaps Marsch will consider taking a gamble. For the opening two games, Leeds started with Patrick Bamford leading the line ahead of Rodrigo.
Unfortunately, Bamford picked up an injury in the early stages of the second game. And thus, Rodrigo has been up front for the majority of the time since.
It would be a risk to start Bamford given his previous injury issues. But Leeds have only scored four goals in their last four games. And Rodrigo has not got any of them.
Bamford meanwhile, really made a difference when he came off the bench against Villa. So if he is ready, he surely needs to start.
The other change may come at right-back. Rasmus Kristensen has arguably got better as the season has gone on. But there may be concerns about how he may fare against Wilfried Zaha.
Luke Ayling has been very good in both of his appearances since returning from injury. So Marsch may be thinking about going with him instead. He has produced some really ‘superb‘ displays in the top-flight.
With that in mind, here is the predicted lineup for Leeds in full…
