Leeds player raves about “ridiculous” Tottenham star

Leeds United’s Kalvin Phillips has raved about Tottenham forward Harry Kane.

The Premier League duo are included in Gareth Southgate’s preliminary 33-man England squad, and most expect they’ll both be on the plane.

Phillips, 25, has been discussing the quality of opposition he’s come up against during his first year in the Premier League.

The Leeds-born midfielder has picked out Spurs frontman Kane as someone who really impressed him.

England captain Kane finished as the top scorer and top assister in the Premier League this season, which was done in a Spurs team that finished seventh.

Celtic strike Premier Sports deal - is this the "additional value" we've been waiting for?

“There was Harry Kane, at their place. The way that he is – the way that he holds the ball up and can pick passes, the way he can score – is ridiculous,” Phillips told GQ magazine.

Phillips and Kane could both start for England

It’s obvious that £200,000-a-week Spurs star Kane will start at this summer’s Euro 2020.

The centre-forward is the world-class player in the Three Lions squad, who will have a huge impact on whether or not England go far in the competition.

Meanwhile, Phillips has enjoyed a meteoric rise.

There is every chance that he could be included in the England XI.

Declan Rice and Jordan Henderson would look like the most likely starters on paper in England’s midfield, but the latter has only just returned from injury.

Regardless, the way Phillips has improved he deserves to be mixing it alongside the world’s best like Kane week in week out in the Premier League.
