Leeds United have made their first move towards signing up Borussia Dortmund defender, Raphael Guerreiro, according to reports.
According to Fussball Transfers, the Whites have started to put feelers out as they consider signing the Portuguese left-back. The Dortmund man has been part of the Portugal squad over in Qatar and could well play today as they bid for a place in the World Cup semi-finals.
Of course, Leeds’ interest in Guerreiro is nothing brand new. Back in November, it was claimed that the Whites were already keeping tabs on the left-back. It comes as Jess Marsch looks to add more new players in January and ensure that Leeds are nowhere near a relegation battle this time around.

Guerreiro is into the last part of his contract with Dortmund and there has been little signs of a new deal as of yet.
Juventus are also said to be tracking the full-back and there is a decision to be made from Dortmund as to whether they get some money in January or let him go for free in the summer.
Leeds, it seems, are waiting in the wings and could well consider a January bid for the left-back.
TBR’s View: Guerreiro has looked the part for years
Rafa Guerreiro would be a fine signing for Leeds United at this stage. He has done brilliantly well for Dortmund in the last few seasons and you have to say he improves things at Elland Road.
If he is available on the cheap in January then it could well be worth doing for Leeds. If they wait and try to get him on a free, they might well be beaten out by clubs willing to pay more in wages.
Leeds fans will want new signings in January. And Guerreiro would be a good start indeed.
