Report: Leeds United officials watched Raphael Guerreiro last week

According to 90min, Leeds United officials were in attendance at Borussia Park last Friday to watch Raphael Guerreiro live as Monchengladbach picked up an impressive 4-2 win over Dortmund.

The game last week was the last one for both teams before the World Cup break. Numerous players from both sides are heading to Qatar to join up with their international teammates, including Guerreiro, who has been called up to Portugal’s squad.

Leeds United officials watched Raphael Guerreiro last week

Jesse Marsch’s Leeds side have had a tough campaign so far.

They have played good football on numerous occasions, but the sad reality is they’ve won just four of their first 14 league games and are currently just two points above the relegation zone.

Things have to change for Leeds when domestic football returns on Boxing Day. They need to start planning things from now, and it looks like they’ve identified a few potential transfer targets.

The report claims that officials from Leeds United were present to watch Guerreiro. The 28-year-old played the full 90 minutes at left-back, but it was a game he’d like to forget.

BVB Buzz gave him a 4/10 rating and claimed that he gave Gladbach’s forwards way too much space.

Guerreiro will be a wanted man in the next two windows. He has entered the final year of his contract and as things stand, it doesn’t look like he’s planning to pen an extension. That could open the door for Leeds to make a move.

Cristiano Ronaldo wanted Guerreiro at Real Madrid

Cristiano Ronaldo has been in the news for all the wrong reasons lately. His stock has dropped since the start of this season, but back in his Real Madrid days, he was at the peak of his game.

In an interview in 2016, Ronaldo was asked by a German outlet to name one player he’d like to sign from either Bayern Munich or Borussia Dortmund.

CR7 had a number of players he could’ve picked – from Robert Lewandowski and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to Marco Reus and David Alaba. However, Ronaldo picked his compatriot instead.

“Perhaps my team-mate in Portugal, Raphael Guerreiro,” he said, as quoted by Bleacher Report.
