A number of Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Max Dean after the 17-year-old scored a brace in the Whites’ FA Youth Cup win over Coventry on Tuesday, with the first goal proving to be an absolute stunner.

Leeds beat the Sky Blues 4-1 to advance in the competition. Lui Bradbury broke the deadlock with a delicious finish into the far corner.

Meanwhile, 16-year-old Marley Wilson got Leeds’ third with a header. But it was Dean who took many of the plaudits on social media, particularly after a brilliant strike for the visitors’ second of the evening.

Dean has certainly established himself as one of the most exciting prospects in the youth ranks at Thorp Arch. He is now playing fairly regularly for Mark Jackson’s under-23s in Premier League 2.

He is yet to get that chance to move up to the first-team bench. However, for many, it is a matter of time before he is in contention for the step up to Marcelo Bielsa’s side.

And the belief that he is destined for the senior side was only strengthened off the back of his latest performance for the Whites’ youngsters.

It was a remarkable finish from Dean, who found the top corner from around 12 yards out. He used a step-over and a touch with the outside of his left foot to create a yard of space. His effort found the back of the net at some pace.
