Leeds fans react on Twitter to Liam Cooper display vs Wolves

A number of Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Liam Cooper after the defender’s performance against Wolves on Saturday.

Leeds appear to have potentially got their campaign up and running. Rodrigo scored a stoppage-time penalty to equalise against Bruno Lage’s men.

It had looked destined to be another frustrating afternoon for the Whites. Wolves had taken the lead early on.

And while Leeds dominated much of the play, they struggled to test Jose Sa too much until the latter stages of the game. But ultimately, they were able to find another gear in the final moments.

Of course, Joe Gelhardt will take many of the headlines and plaudits. And several others certainly stepped up to help secure the point.

But many felt that Cooper was absolutely outstanding in the draw.

The centre-back has come in for plenty of criticism during his time at Elland Road. And in fairness, there have been times when he has made a costly decision.

But in recent weeks, he has arguably been one of Leeds’ best players. Certainly, he has been superb alongside Diego Llorente.

Even in the disappointing loss at Southampton, some fans felt that Cooper had done well enough to earn some praise.

And he was colossal on Saturday. He did brilliantly up against Raul Jimenez and Adama Traore. In fact, it seemed that Adama barely got a kick.

No player who started for either side had fewer touches than Adama. And the Wolves forward was unable to attempt one single dribble during the game (Whoscored).

And with that, plenty of Leeds fans have lauded Cooper. Many have insisted that he is silencing his doubters.

Certainly, the idea that he is underrated is going to need revising if he continues to impress in the weeks ahead.
