Leeds fans react as Whites have supposedly made offer to sign David Beckham-like star

Leeds United have supposedly tabled an offer to sign Stuttgart left-back Borna Sosa ahead of the summer window as the Croatian continues to shine in the Bundesliga – prompting reaction from Leeds supporters on social media.

Sosa, 23, has been in excellent form for Stuttgart since the Bundesliga side regained their place in the top tier of German football last summer. While had had only played 25 times in his first two years at the club, this season he has become a regular.

Clocking up 26 appearances in all competitions, Sosa has played 24 of those in the Bundesliga and has a whopping 10 assists to his name. His delivery from in-play situations and from corners and free-kicks have been a lethal weapon for Stuttgart.

So much so that ex-Arsenal sporting director – now at Stuttgart – Sven Mislintat recently compared him to David Beckham: “Borna’s said that David Beckham is his role model, and I think he has the same qualities. His left foot is a real weapon.”

That form has not gone unnoticed. It is claimed by Croatian agent Franjo Vranjković that Leeds have made an offer to sign the player, but that numerous Premier League clubs are interested. He also claims that Stuttgart want around £17million.

“It is important for him is to move to England. He has an offer from Leeds, and other Premier League clubs are also interested,” Vranjkovic told Sportske Novosti. “Only the English can pay as much as Stuttgart want. He will cost about €20m (£17m).”

Leeds fans have reacted on Twitter to the news that Sosa has emerged as a target for Leeds this summer, and many believe he would be a good addition to a side that are in need of a left-sided defender – with Gjanni Alioski’s contract about to expire.
