Leeds fans react as South American star posts statement discussing future
Matheus Pereira has been strongly linked with a move to Leeds United from West Bromwich Albion throughout the summer. The Brazilian is said to be keen on leaving the Baggies and has now confirmed as such in a statement posted on Instagram. Leeds fans discussed Pereira, after his comments.
Pereira, 25, joined the Baggies on loan from Sporting Lisbon in 2019 and produced 28 goal involvements as the Baggies gained promotion. The move became permanent. He went on to lay on 11 assists and score six goals in 33 Premier League games. That is, despite West Brom going down.
Now, he is being linked with an instant return to the Premier League. The Daily Express says West Ham and Leeds are looking at the pocket-sized Brazilian. Pereira has now made it clear that he wants to leave West Brom in the coming weeks and months – with a long-winded statement.
What have Leeds fans said regarding Pereira and statement?
Leeds need a number 10, and perhaps cover out wide. The Whites used Tyler Roberts and Rodrigo in the 10 role last season but naturally, both players are strikers and they were inconsistent. Out wide, Leeds boast Jack Harrison and Raphinha – but there is a drop off to the next option.
Helder Costa has been poor since joining Leeds on the whole, while Ian Poveda probably needs to go on loan. So, Pereira would be a helpful signing for Leeds in the coming weeks and months. Here is what the majority of Leeds fans are saying about Pereira, following his statement.
