Leeds fans react as player makes 23's cameo role, want him to play against Fulham
Adam Forshaw came off the bench to play against Liverpool’s Under-23 side on Sunday – and now, Leeds fans want to see him face Fulham on Tuesday.
Forshaw, 29, ended a wait of nearly two years to return to senior football last month – helping Leeds beat Crewe Alexandra in the Carabao Cup.
But the midfielder has since suffered a calf strain which kept him sidelined in his comeback – until Sunday. He came off the bench against Liverpool.
The Under-23 Leeds side produced an excellent display, beating the Reds 4-0. Joe Gelhardt got a brace, while Pascal Struijk and Amari Miller netted.
Forshaw came off the bench to feature for the final 30 minutes of the win, laying on an assist for Gelhardt’s second – as he blasted home from 30 yards.
Forshaw cameo role: Could he feature for Leeds against Fulham?
Fulham have Premier League quality. While Forshaw could have started had he remained fit after his Crewe outing, he may now struggle.
Indeed, Forshaw will surely be involved but the chances of him starting just four days after 30 minutes against Liverpool are unlikely.
Not just because Leeds are being careful with him, but also because of the greater quality of opponents in Fulham. It will be a tough game for Leeds.
However, if things are going well, surely Forshaw could get a chance for the last 30 minutes against the Cottagers. Leeds fans want Forshaw to feature.
