Leeds secured a late point against Brentford on Sunday afternoon as Patrick Bamford poked home Raphinha’s corner – and Leeds fans love what the Brazilian did, in the seconds after Bamford’s injury-time effort.

Bamford, 28, had missed the previous 10 league games due to a long-term ankle injury. But he made his comeback for the 23’s last Monday, playing in a 3-2 defeat to Manchester City’s second string.

On Sunday, he came off the bench to play in Sunday’s 2-2 draw with Brentford. In the final seconds, Bamford sent Elland Road into raptures with his goal – flicking a Luke Ayling header into the net, off the bar.

While Bamford raced away on the left wing, top spinning around in the air and his Leeds teammates chasing him – Raphinha was on the other side of the pitch, showing incredible passion in front of his fans.

His celebration also saw him point at the badge while talking to the supporters. A real show of allegiance to Leeds, despite Fabrizio Romano recently claiming he is a £60million target for Liverpool.

What are Leeds fans saying about Raphinha and his celebration?

It was a celebration that seemed to suggest he holds Leeds in his heart. That whatever happens, he will love the club = perhaps even a sign that he wants to stay at Elland Road for the foreseeable.

Many expect that Raphinha might even be in his last season at Leeds, given his talent has now reached international stage – shining for Brazil in a front three alongside Neymar.

Leeds fans discussed his celebration on Twitter – which was both a mixture of passion and loyalty – as Leeds stole a crucial point from under Thomas Frank’s nose.
