Leeds fans discuss Conor Gallagher brace for Palace

Conor Gallagher scored a stunning brace for Crystal Palace on Saturday – and Leeds fans are frustrated they missed out on the Chelsea star.

Gallagher, 21, joined Palace on a season-long loan from Chelsea having done well in a struggling West Brom side last season. Leeds, were keen.

Indeed, the England Under-21 international even reportedly travelled to Leeds. He underwent a medical ahead of a loan – as per 90Min.

Instead, Gallagher chose to remain in the capital – swapping West London for South London and joining Palace. On Saturday, he was excellent.

The Chelsea loanee equalised twice for Palace, scoring the first two goals of Vieira’s era. If his first was fortuitous, his second was a gorgeous goal.

Even without Gallagher nabbing a brace in just his second Palace start in the Premier League – Leeds fans were frustrated at a lack of incomings.

Compared to last season, the only difference is Junior Firpo in the starting XI and he was absent against Burnley on Sunday. Suffering a positive test.

Leeds lack a midfielder, cover for Kalvin Phillips – but one that can bomb on and join the attack, too. Gallagher might have been absolutely ideal.

Instead, he has joined Palace and with Leeds coming so close to a deal – fans frustration at missing out on Gallagher is all the more painful.
