Leeds could make moves for Hwang Hee-chan and Adama Traore after Dieng blow - journalist
The Whites were on the verge of signing Bamba Dieng from Marseille, but a late move from OGC Nice turned the player’s head. That deal collapsed, which has left Jesse Marsch’s side in a really difficult position.
Leeds could make moves for Hwang Hee-chan and Adama Traore
Leeds have been desperate to sign a new striker since the transfer window opened. They have tried to bring a number of forwards in, but for one reason or another, they’ve missed out.
After the deal for Dieng collapsed, Leeds are apparently tempted to revive their interest in two players from the same club – Wolves stars Hwang and Traore.
That’s according to Jones, who told GiveMeSport after Dieng snubbed the Whites: “Leeds are now tempted to turn back to players they have had an interest in for some time.
“Hwang is an obvious one, but also look out for Adama Traore.”
Leeds have been linked with moves for Hwang and Traore for a few days now, and at least one deal, if not both, could go through in the final hours of the window.
Marsch knows Hwang really well thanks to their time together at RB Salzburg. The South Korean, branded as ‘absolutely crazy’ by Erling Haaland, scored 16 goals and provided 24 assists in just 43 games under the American, and it is no surprise that Leeds boss is keen on a reunion.
Traore, on the other hand, is a fantastic player in his own right. He is really inconsistent, which is a big issue, but on his day, the Spaniard could single-handedly win games for his club.
With Dan James on his way to Fulham and Rodrigo set for a spell on the sidelines, Traore and Hwang would be really interesting options for Leeds. However, whether they can sign them before the window shuts remains to be seen.
