Journalist Ben Jacobs has claimed on Twitter that Leeds United are continuing talks over a deal for Kai Wagner, with Jesse Marsch driving their interest in the left-back.
Jacobs has suggested that Leeds are going to be busy in the days ahead. Of course, for many, the main concern is up front with Patrick Bamford coming off in the early stages of their draw on Saturday.

But left-back is also an issue. Pascal Struijk has filled in while Junior Firpo has been sidelined. But Marsch does not have a natural back-up at his disposal.
Reports during the week claimed that Leeds want Wagner. The 25-year-old plays for Philadelphia Union in Major League Soccer. And he has provided five assists this season.

Jacobs has now provided an update on the Whites’ pursuit. He suggested that Victor Orta is going to be getting through plenty of work this coming week, with discussions with Wagner underway…
Leeds continuing Wagner talks
Leeds have done a lot of brilliant work in this window. And the early signs of this Premier League season are encouraging. But Saturday highlighted that there is more to do.
They still lack depth in a couple of areas. And they could probably do with even more quality in some positions.
Signing Wagner has the potential to be a gamble given that he has not played at a higher level in Europe than the German third division.
But Leeds must sign another left-back. And it is a difficult task if Marsch plans to use Firpo as his first-choice this season.
The supporters will however, have few complaints if a cheaper deal for Wagner – the Daily Mail suggests that his asking price is £2.5 million – allows Leeds to spend more on a forward before the deadline passes.
