League champions make ‘unbelievable’ Arsenal player their new main target this summer

One Arsenal player is attracting a lot of interest this summer.

The Gunners are expected to make a number of sales in this window. Mikel Arteta has placed 10 Arsenal players on the chopping block, and a couple of them have already been pushed out of the door.

Albert Sambi Lokonga and Nuno Tavares have joined Sevilla and Lazio respectively, but that won’t be the end of departures. More movement is expected in the coming weeks.

Italian champions Inter Milan are now keen to sign one Arsenal player.

Inter Milan want to sign Arsenal’s Jakub Kiwior but on one condition

Jakub Kiwior’s future at Arsenal has been up in the air for a few weeks now.

The Pole joined the Gunners from Spezia in January 2023. He was initially brought in as a centre-half but most of his appearances under Arteta have come at left-back.

Kiwior, branded as ‘unbelievable’ by Ally McCoist during commentary on TNT Sports, produced a number of excellent performances for Arsenal in the 2023/24 season and even kept Oleksandr Zinchenko out of the side for a while.

However, Arsenal are pushing to sign Riccardo Calafiori this summer, and the Italian is very similar to Kiwior in terms of their position and style of play.

That has led to rumours that Kiwior could leave Arsenal, and the Poland international has been linked with a number of clubs in Italy.

SportMediaset, as translated by FC Inter 1908 and Sempre Inter, reveal that Kiwior is now on top of Inter Milan’s list of defensive targets this summer.

The Italian champions want a replacement for the injured Tajon Buchanan, and all signs pointed towards signing Hellas Verona’s Juan Cabal.

However, Juventus hijacked that deal, so Inter are now really keen to sign Kiwior from Arsenal in the coming days.

But, the report claims that a deal is only possible if Arsenal are open to the idea of a loan deal with an option to make that permanent in the summer of 2025.

It remains to be seen if Arsenal would consider that option.

Arsenal’s current plan for Kiwior

Kiwior is a solid player, but it seems clear that Arsenal are ready to move him on.

The Pole is a fantastic defender in his own right. He has proven his quality in the Premier League, and he is good enough to play for most clubs in the world.

Arsenal, however, have an opportunity to sign Calafiori, and as good as Kiwior is, the Italian would be a huge upgrade on him.

That’s why reports have claimed that Arsenal are trying to include Kiwior in the deal to sign Calafiori, but there is a problem.

Reports have claimed that Kiwior is holding up the Calafiori deal because he is currently reluctant to move to Bologna this summer.

It remains to be seen if the Pole’s stance will change in the coming weeks.
