Tottenham are being linked with a move for Tariq Lamptey this summer – but some Brighton supporters on Twitter have responded to claim they are desperate not to lose their talented defender.

Premier League outfit Brighton boast a talented group of players at their disposal, including English youngster Lamptey.

The 20-year-old speed machine has caught the eye during his brief Brighton career, so it’s no surprise to see a big club linked with him.

According to the Daily Mail, Spurs are targeting a raid for the quick full-back.

However, Brighton will not accept a fee much less than £50million for their rising star.

In addition, he’s being targeted by the north London club as a replacement for Serge Aurier.

The full-back is still under contract at the Amex Stadium until 2025 because of the deal he signed in January. Unfortunately, he missed the second half of the season afterwards through injury.

A selection of the Brighton fanbase have made it clear they can’t afford to lose Lamptey. Therefore, they hope the quoted £50million price tag is enough to fend Spurs off.

Fortunately, the Seagulls managed to sign him on a permanent basis from Chelsea.

Spurs are crying out for some more quality in their backline, especially in the full-back areas.

Lamtpey may only be an inexperienced player in the early stages of his career, but on paper it looks like he could be a great signing.
