West Ham United have been making good progress in their pursuit of Lucas Paqueta over the past day and a half.
On Thursday afternoon, the Hammers looked like they were struggling to get a deal over the line.
Indeed, one report suggested the deal was actually off. But that didn’t prove to be the case.

As per Fabrizio Romano, West Ham took part in a direct call with Lyon on Thursday night.
This kick started talks again and paved the way for further – and more fruitful – negotiations.
Friday saw a number of positive developments regarding West Ham’s pursuit of Paqueta.
And on Saturday morning, Romano shared a fresh update on the state of play.
Paqueta is now expected to fly to England to undergo medical tests and seal his West Ham move.
The Hammers and OL reached an agreement on Friday, and now the final step before a done deal beckons.
AC Milan and Flamengo will receive part of the fee, added Romano.
According to Sky Sports, West Ham have agreed a £51million deal with Lyon for Paqueta.
The Hammers, who have endured a difficult start to the Premier League season, will be getting themselves a top player.
“Lucas Paqueta is a very classy player,” South American football expert Tim Vickery told Sky Sports.
“He’d be a wonderful asset to West Ham and to the Premier League because he has real left-footed class.
“He is an elegant attacking midfielder. He’s so versatile.
“I’ve seen him playing for Brazil and fill three different positions in the same game reasonably well.
“He’s really an attacking midfielder but he can also play up front. You can play him as a withdrawn winger, and deeper in midfield.”
