Some Manchester City fans were reacting after a report over Aymeric Laporte wanting a move to Spain emerged.

According to El Confidencial, the £120k-p/w defender has made a move to Madrid a priority this summer. The report claims the ace doesn’t care if it’s Real Madrid or Atletico Madrid.

Laporte has made this decision after becoming a Spain international, claims the publication.

The 27-year-old has been linked with a move away from the Etihad Stadium all summer long. He has also drawn interest from Barcelona, according to Sport.

Laporte endured a frustrating season last campaign, making just 27 appearances in all competition.

He fell behind John Stone and Ruben Dias in the pecking order after the duo formed a key partnership.

TBR View: Laport move to Spain can raise funds for Manchester City

The current global pandemic has harmed the finances of businesses/clubs around the world.

Manchester City are no different with the outfit recording a £126m loss for the 2019/2020 season.

Raising funds seems to be crucial for the club. The likes of Riyad Mahrez and Raheem Sterling have been linked with moves away as well this summer.

Thus, letting Laporte move to Spain would raise a ton of cash to improve the squad.
