Dejan Kulusevski was reportedly a target for Edu at Arsenal before he ended up joining Tottenham on loan in January.

The Express claim that Edu has ‘egg on his face’ after failing to convert Arsenal’s interest during the first half of the season.

He has since joined Spurs, rounding off their front three and playing a part in their red-hot form which has put them in the driving seat for fourth.

Arsenal do have an exciting frontline of their own, but injuries have bitten a little bit lately and the squad is looking a bit thin.

If Kulusevski was on the red half of north London, it is fair to say that Arsenal’s chances of top four would be stronger.

Not only that, Spurs’ would be weaker, because they have been looking for the right foil for Son Heung-min and Harry Kane for a long time and seem to have finally found one.

The Express report even claims the forward admitted back in 2019 that he was a Gunners supporter, saying: “My favourite team is Arsenal, because I like everything about the club, the city, the players and the way they play football.”

Kulusevski has been hailed as ‘sensational‘ by Antonio Cassano, who has questioned Spurs’ decision to let him leave on loan.

And Spurs are expected to sign the Swede permanently at the end of the season, which is the earliest possible juncture, which could compound Edu’s decision not to push harder to sign him.
