Kieran Trippier sends nine-word message to Tottenham fans after helping beat Arsenal last night
Newcastle United star Kieran Trippier has sent an Instagram message to Tottenham Hotspur fans after his side beat Arsenal 2-0 at St James’ Park last night.
The Englishman, who spent four seasons as a Spurs player, has never shied away from showing some love to Tottenham. He always speaks fondly of them, and he may have done them a huge favour now.
Trippier promised Tottenham fans last week that he will help them out in the top-four race by beating Arsenal.
He was only on the bench last night, but his side managed to get the job done, thus handing the keys to the final Champions League spot to Antonio Conte. All Spurs have to do now is unlock it by beating Norwich on the final day of the season.
Kieran Tripper sends message to Tottenham fans after beating Arsenal
Arsenal took on Newcastle in front of an electric St James’ Park crowd last night. The home fans were up for it and so were the players as they dominated the game from start to finish.
Newcastle were clearly the better side last night and deservedly won the game. Arsenal have nobody else to blame but themselves, and their Champions League hopes are now hanging by a thread.
Tottenham are now in the driving seat. Spurs fans will absolutely love it if they get there on the final day of the season and so will Trippier, who took to Instagram to send them a nine-word message last night.
Trippier really has been an extraordinary signing for Newcastle United. The Englishman came in from Atletico Madrid in the January transfer window and he has been a real star for them.
His return yesterday was a massive boost and Eddie Howe would’ve brought him on if there was a need. However, Arsenal posed next to no threat throughout the game, and the Newcastle boss left the full-back on the bench.
While warming up on the touchline, Trippier was spotted giving instructions to his teammates as Arsenal tried their best to do something to get back in the game. Although the Newcastle stars on the pitch deserve all the credit, maybe, just maybe, the Englishman’s message from the side helped them out a bit.
That has not just helped Newcastle, but also his old club Tottenham, who are now just days away from returning to Europe’s most prestigious club competition.
