Harry Kane reveals he'll be texting one Newcastle player tonight ahead of their clash with Arsenal
Tottenham striker, Harry Kane, has revealed he’ll be texting good friend Kieran Trippier this evening as Newcastle prepare to face Arsenal.
The Spurs star did his job today against Burnley, as he fired in a crucial penalty to give his team a vital 1-0 win against the relegation threatened Clarets. Kane’s penalty meant he’s now taken 21 in a row for Spurs without missing, and the win for Tottenham ensured the pressure is now on Arsenal tomorrow.
The Gunners take on Newcastle in what could be a massive game in the race for the top four. And speaking following the win for Tottenham today, Kane has revealed he’ll be giving his old friend Trippier a text tonight.
“I’ll give Kieran Trippier a text. It’ll be a tough game for Arsenal, but we’ve taken care of what we needed to do,” Kane told the BBC.
Of course, Trippier is unlikely to play any part on the field tomorrow. The England full-back was injured a few months back after a positive start at Newcastle. However, he is known to be an influential presence in the dressing room for Eddie Howe.
Tottenham and Kane, meanwhile, will be able to put their feet up and watch on in hope that Newcastle do the business.
TBR’s View: Newcastle More Than Capable Of Beating Arsenal Tomorrow
In terms of banana skins, this is one for Arsenal. Newcastle can be a nightmare to play against under Eddie Howe and they’ll be keen to sign off in front of their home fans in style.
Tottenham can sit with some quiet confidence in Newcastle helping them out here. Kane will be right on at Trippier to get his team fired up, and you’d imagine given Trippier’s Spurs links, he’ll want to help derail Arsenal’s season.
Arsenal will be nervous after today. They simply have to win.
