In-form Tottenham Hotspur star Heung-Min Son has been compared to Cristiano Ronaldo by former Premier League winner Kieran Richardson.

The South American marvel scored a hat-trick against Aston Villa on Saturday evening as Antonio Conte’s Spurs put Steven Gerrard’s Villains to the sword with a 4-0 win.

The 29-year-old now has six goals from his last three games and as well as firing Spurs into the driving seat for Champions League qualification, the former Bayer Leverkusen will be eyeing up the Premier League golden boot.

His treble in the Midlands took his Premier League goal tally for the season to 17 goals and he sits just three goals behind Mohamed Salah with seven top-flight games to be played.

Former Manchester United players Richardson and Rio Ferdinand waxed lyrical about Spurs’ number seven on the latest Vibe with FIVE podcast.

Richardson said: “I’d love him at United. I love Son. He’s too good for Tottenham.

“He’s ruthless in front of goal. Son reminds of Cristiano [Ronaldo] back in the day, if he goes through on goal – you know it’s a goal.

“The way he runs, his speed, [he’s] phenomenal.”

Ferdinand agreed with his former United teammate and said. “I love him. He’s nasty.”

There is a lot of love for Son from former players currently and Darren Bent, a former Tottenham striker, stated today that he felt Son could get into any Premier League side, including Manchester City and Liverpool.

Son is undoubtedly one of the best players in the Premier League and from 318 games for Spurs, the South Korean international has 125 goals and 72 assists to his name.

With a contract at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium until 2025, it would take a huge sum of money to convince Daniel Levy to part ways with Heung-Min Son.
