Viktor Gyokeres has ended his goal drought at Arsenal to hand the Gunners the lead against Burnley, but his goal is not the only reason fans have been praising him.

The Swedish striker enjoyed one of his best games in an Arsenal shirt to date and was rewarded with a goal away at Turf Moor.

Gyokeres opened the scoring after just 14 minutes as Declan Rice’s corner was sent back across the goal by Gabriel Magalhaes and turned in by the striker.

The 27-year-old’s headed goal against the Clarets wasn’t the only moment that sparked debate, as fans have noticed an interesting detail from his display.

Arsenal fans so impressed by Viktor Gyokeres’ work rate

Arsenal supporters are loving Viktor Gyokeres’ work rate in their clash with Burnley and have been so impressed with his performance.

Gyokeres, who has impressed Bukayo Saka, was rewarded with a goal in the first half, but it’s also the work he is doing off the ball which the Gunners’ supporters are loving.

Chris Sutton predicted Gyokeres would become a flat-track bully for Arsenal, and he proved that by getting really stuck in against the Clarets.

Fans will have been gutted to see the former Brighton man subbed off at the break, given just how well he was playing.

Another exciting detail from his display was his creativity, as he made two big chances and three key passes in just 45 minutes.

After the match, Arsenal fans took to social media to share their praise for the Swedish international and his impressive work rate.

One fan said: “Gyokeres is such an important part of this team. I can’t believe people have been putting him down. He’s such a nuisance and a handful for defenders. His work rate is incredible. He’s getting better and better in each game.”

“Gyokeres never stops running. They can never make me undermine his ability to do the little details. Got fans hating and saying that’s Havertz stuff,” added another.

There was yet more praise for Gyokeres: “MOTM performance from Gyokeres so far. Best game in an Arsenal shirt by far. Constantly running at people like always, but more involved in the buildup too.”

Finally, another fan added: “Got to love the work rate and determination of Gyokeres. Works his socks off every game.”

Viktor Gyokeres’ goal creates Premier League history for Arsenal

Gyokeres’ strike against Burnley means that Arsenal are the first Premier League team in history to score from eight corners in their first 10 matches.

Mikel Arteta’s team are almost certainly the best set-piece takers in the division, with 12 of their 17 goals this season coming from these situations.

Gabriel appears to be one of the biggest reasons why Arsenal are so good with his dominance in the air.

The Brazilian is now the centre back with the most direct goal involvements since his Premier League debut, having produced 18 goals and three assists.
