Alan Shearer has lauded Arsenal star Jorginho after his performance against Liverpool on Sunday.
The Italian was handed his first start in the league since early November and it’s fair to say he grabbed his opportunity with both hands.
Jorginho played a key role for the Gunners on Sunday, putting in a composed display in the middle of the park.

The midfielder received high praise from Gary Neville after the game, with the Manchester United legend labelling his display ‘absolutely outstanding’.
Now, Alan Shearer has named Jorginho in his Premier League Team of the Week and feels the 32-year-old was ‘key’ to a massive win for Arsenal.
Shearer amazed by Jorginho’s passing vs Liverpool
Surprisingly, Jorginho was the only Arsenal player to make Shearer’s Team of the Week.
“His passing and big-match experience were both key as Arsenal won the midfield battle and played through Liverpool’s press,” the Newcastle legend said.
Mikel Arteta did get the nod as the manager of the week after winning the ‘tactical battle’ at the Emirates Stadium.

Jorginho has largely been used as a squad player since joining from Chelsea back in January last year. But the £110,000-a-week midfielder continues to be an important part of Arteta’s squad.
Arsenal completely dominated the game yesterday and limited Liverpool to just one shot on target.
They bossed the game in the middle of the park and Jorginho was undoubtedly their star performer in that area of the pitch.
Gabriel Martinelli may feel hard done by not making Shearer’s side after an exceptional performance off the left-hand side.
Yet, Jorginho certainly deserved the nod in Shearer’s side after a classy display.
You’d imagine that, for the time being, Jorginho has secured his place in Arteta’s starting XI after such a performance.
