Leeds United fans have been offered an update on the future of Kalvin Phillips from the England international’s agent, Kevin Sharp in the Sunday Mirror (20/6; page 76).
Phillips has been one of the shining lights for Gareth Southgate’s men at Euro 2020. He was man of the match in their opening game.

It came after an outstanding first year in the Premier League. The 25-year-old remains the jewel in the crown of Marcelo Bielsa’s side.
Unsurprisingly, there has now been plenty of talk surrounding his future.
It was recently claimed that clubs such as Juventus and Real Madrid now want Phillips. One report suggested that Carlo Ancelotti wants Los Blancos to monitor the Leeds star throughout the rest of Euro 2020.

Whites fans seem optimistic about their chances of keeping Phillips. And his agent has now provided reason for further encouragement.
Sharp suggested that there may be clubs watching Phillips. However, he insisted that he does not want the midfielder to leave Leeds. And he even opened the door for talks over a new contract.
“There may be clubs who are actually looking at Kalvin now,” he told the Sunday Mirror (20/6; page 76). “That’s par for the course being a footballer.
“Controlling that would be down to Leeds, but I’ve got no desire to move Kalvin and he’s got no desire to move.”
“It’s not something we’re banging the door to make it happen,” he added when discussing a new contract.
“But if Leeds want to improve that deal and protect their assets, we’d certainly be interested in sitting down with them.”
Leeds fans can have faith that Kalvin Phillips should be going nowhere after Sharp agreed new deal in 2019
Of course, Leeds supporters were a lot more nervous about keeping Phillips back in 2019.
The Whites had agonisingly snatched another year in the Championship from the jaws of promotion. And keeping Phillips looked to be one of the toughest tasks ahead.
Indeed, Aston Villa reportedly came calling. But Phillips stayed.
And Sharp went on to suggest that he was more than happy with Phillips’s decision to stay at Leeds.
In truth, it would be bizarre if the Whites were not considering handing the academy graduate a new deal anyway.
But it will be fantastic for supporters that all parties look to be on the same page at such an exciting time for Leeds and Phillips himself.
