Juventus hoping Newcastle move for their ‘explosive’ £15m attacker this summer

Juventus are reportedly hopeful that a club like Newcastle United launch a move this summer to sign one of their forward players.

The Magpies are keen to add to their attacking ranks this summer, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin rumoured to be a target for Newcastle, as Eddie Howe looks to shift his focus away from the defence to the front line.

With Callum Wilson also linked with a move away from St. James’ Park, Newcastle could benefit from a new superstar attacker this window, with Alexander Isak and Anthony Gordon thriving last season under Howe.

And Newcastle have now been sounded out for making a move for a Juventus star.

Juventus want to sell Federico Chiesa to a club like Newcastle

According to TuttoMercatoWeb, Juventus want to sell Italian international Federico Chiesa to a club like Newcastle, with the Magpies expected to be one of the biggest spenders in the transfer market this summer.

As per the report, the Old Lady are willing to sell Chiesa for €20m (£15m), though there’s a growing chance that Juventus might have to lower this asking price if they’re to actually offload the former ACF Fiorentina star.

Lauded as an ‘explosove’ winger, Chiesa could be a welcome addition for Newcastle as Howe looks to revamp his forward options, with a European finish the main goal for the Magpies heading into the new season.

And although Tottenham are also chasing Chiesa, Newcastle could seen as the more appealing option for the Italian winger, who might be convinced to join the Toon project if the right offer can be placed in time this summer.

Magpies need to make a big push to sign Chiesa

The Magpies are yet to make a real big splash in the summer transfer window, with the market this year proving once again to be quite slow when it comes to the major teams making huge signings.

Yet Newcastle could change that with a move for Chiesa, who is regarded by many as one of the biggest names in Italian football despite not being at his absolute best since returning from an ACL injury.

However, the St. James’ Park side could be what Chiesa needs to get his career back on track, with Howe showing he can get the best out of players even when once considered lost causes.
