Jurgen Klopp must unleash £5m Liverpool player against West Ham tonight, he could make the difference – opinion

Liverpool appear to found some form at the perfect time, as the fixture list reaches its busiest point before the World Cup.

Their 1-0 win over Premier League champions Manchester City after drubbing Rangers 7-1 last week has renewed hope among Liverpool fans.

However, Jurgen Klopp is now facing an attacking injury crisis, after confirming Diogo Jota will be out of action for months.

This is after Luis Diaz suffered an injury against Arsenal that has ruled him out of travelling to Qatar.

Mohamed Salah’s goal against Man City was a glimpse of his ability that hasn’t been seen as much as Klopp would have liked.

He could be joined by Roberto Firmino up-front, who is in a rosy patch of scoring form right now.

Alternatively, Klopp could unleash Darwin Nunez, who looks like a dynamo of uncontrollable energy whenever he plays.

Another option is summer signing Fabio Carvalho, and the £5m summer signing from Fulham must be unleashed by Klopp tonight.

The Portuguese under-21 international has mainly been used off the bench this season for Liverpool.

Primarily an attacking midfielder, his roll at Fulham last season saw him drift towards the left-hand flank, allowing him to cut in on his stronger right foot.

His ten goals and 8 assists last season was what alerted Liverpool to his ability, and Anfield have already seen moments of his quality.

After the win against Manchester City, Carvalho admitted he was ready to ‘step up’ in the place of his injured teammates.

“That’s something I felt because it was 0-0 and the manager obviously felt good and trusted in me to put me on,” Carvalho said.

“Not just for the team but for myself, it’s something to build on and we’ll keep going.

“I’ve got to step up when needed – whether I start or come on.

“Regardless of what I do, I just need to be able to come on and produce. We’ll see what happens.”

Carvalho’s brilliant close control and ability to burst past defenders make him a natural replace for Jota.

He’s already impressed Firmino in training, and could link up the Brazilian tonight.

His passionate celebration when he opened his account against Bournemouth shows how much playing for Liverpool means to him.

And he’s already proved his worth in front of goal, scoring a last-second tap-in against Newcastle just four days later.

Klopp must unleash Carvalho tonight to help control the match against the Hammers.
