Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has hinted that Jordan Henderson could start for the Reds against Inter Milan on Wednesday night.

The Liverpool captain took a heavy blow to the knee in the first half of the Reds’ 1-0 victory at Burnley on Sunday.

Klopp replaced Henderson – who looked to be struggling during the game – just before the hour-mark.

However, the Liverpool boss confirmed on Tuesday that the £20million man – who took part in open training this week – was “fine” for the Champions League clash.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Klopp was asked whether Henderson was 100 percent fit or whether he was having to manage knocks which may have been having an impact on him.

“You’re hiding something behind your question, I guess? “Klopp replied. “Hendo’s fine. He got a knock on his knee.

“Today was a second day of recovery for a lot of players, for him as well, so it wasn’t the longest session for him.

“Apart from that, there is no issues really. It was his back last week and his knee in the game was definitely not comfortable.

“It’s a proper wound. You can really see it, it looks like lips. It shouldn’t be there. Apart from that, he is fine.”

On Tuesday evening, Liverpool’s media team shared pictures of Henderson and his teammates arriving in Milan.

Can “absolutely magnificent” Henderson bounce back against Inter?

The Reds skipper has struggled at times this season, and looked particularly lacklustre against the Clarets.

However, we’re talking about the same player who helped tear Manchester United apart just a few months ago.

“Absolutely magnificent,” Ian Wright said about Henderson on Match of the Day.

“His assist to Mo Salah is one of the passes of the season. If De Bruyne had done it, everyone would be on one. That pass is goals.”

Hopefully the 31-year-old can bounce back from his Burnley display and deliver a masterclass in Milan.
