Wolves have confirmed the signing of 19-year-old Louie Moulden. The goalkeeper’s contract at Manchester City is due to expire at the end of the month and Wolves have pounced. Moulden has posted on Instagram following his move to Wolves, and Jude Bellingham is among those to react.

Moulden, 19, joined Manchester City’s academy from Liverpool back in 2016, when he was just 14 years of age. Since then, he has risen through the ranks – playing 17 times for City’s Under-18’s. Over the course of the last 12 months, he has also played five times for City’s reserves.

But it is clear Moulden knew he would be leaving this summer. He has also gone on trial to Derby and Aston Villa in recent months, turning out for their 23’s. Now, he has found a new home in Wolves – signing a two-year deal with the Midlands club. He posted on Instagram following the move.

What has Bellingham said about Wolves signing Moulden?

Moulden certainly has plenty of potential. The goalkeeper has clocked up caps with England’s Under-18 side, all the way down each level to Under-15’s. He has also been called up for the 19’s. So, while Wolves may be signing a goalkeeper for their 23’s, he will be eyeing a first-team shot.

He might have a chance too. John Ruddy’s contract is about to expire, while Rui Patricio is linked with a move to Jose Mourinho’s Roma. Plenty reacted to Moulden’s move to Wolves – including England Euro 2020 star Jude Bellingham, who came through the ranks at Birmingham City.
