Jude Bellingham and Martin Odegaard absolutely loved 21-year-old Arsenal man’s performance yesterday

The first full day of action at the World Cup produced some fantastic matches and brilliant performances.

The most eye-catching of all was England’s 6-2 demolition of Iran in their opening group game.

There had been some questions going into the match over how Gareth Southgate might set up his side.

He got his tactics spot on as England showed their credentials against an Iran side who simply couldn’t cope defensively.

There was one player in particular that Arsenal fans would have been delighted with yesterday.

Bukayo Saka’s brace on his World Cup debut was absolutely sublime and earned the youngster plenty of praise.

His England teammate Jude Bellingham loved Saka’s performance, after he also scored his first World Cup goal.

The pair are England’s future for at least the next decade, and clearly have a brilliant relationship on and off the pitch.

Saka impressed plenty of his Arsenal teammates too, including his captain Martin Odegaard.

The 21-year-old Arsenal winger took to Instagram after the match to celebrate England’s victory.

He posted a picture of him celebrating his goal, and holding the man of the match trophy with the caption, “What a feeling”.

Jude Bellingham replied simply saying, ‘the boy’ and thought Saka was on fire.

Martin Odegaard was also really impressed with his club teammate, and it’s easy to see why.

Bellingham wasn’t the only person who loved Saka’s performance against Iran.

His Arsenal teammate and fellow academy graduate Emile Smith Rowe took to Twitter to praise Saka.

Alan Shearer was also really impressed, and would have been very happy with his two finishes.

Saka showed his composure with both his goals, picking his spot and giving Iran’s goalkeeper no chance.

He’ll be full of confidence going into Friday’s match against the USA, knowing a win almost certainly guarantees England’s place in the knockout stages.

Gareth Southgate clearly trusts the 21-year-old completely and has every right to.

Saka could just be the key to England going deep into this winter’s World Cup.
