Liverpool have been linked with Jarrod Bowen in recent weeks.

The Athletic reported in July that the Reds had the West Ham ace on their radar.

Klopp believes Bowen fits Liverpool’s profile in terms of his age, playing style and versatility, added the report.

Liverpool seeking players to elevate to Salah and Mane level?

Speaking on the Red Sea Podcast, James Pearce elaborated on the speculation linking the Anfield outfit with Bowen.

“When you look at him [Bowen], I think he does tick a lot of the Klopp boxes,” said the Athletic journalist.

“Because the reality is, I think Liverpool buying the finished article with Alisson and with Van Dijk, that was almost an anomaly, really, because of the Coutinho money.

“I just think Liverpool will be in the market for, rather than the finished article, they’ll be in the market for what Sadio Mane was like four, five years ago when he came in, and similarly with Mo Salah.

“Those players who aren’t absolutely world-class, but they believe that with Klopp, and with the structure at Liverpool, that they can elevate them to that kind of level.”

The Athletic previously reported that West Ham wouldn’t consider any bids below £35million for Bowen.

The 24-year-old joined the Hammers from Hull in January 2020 for a reported £22million.

He has made 53 appearances in claret-and-blue, registering 54 goals and 14 assists.

Bowen’s efforts last term have helped his club qualify for this season’s Europa League.
