Arsenal are now closing in on the signing of Riccardo Calafiori after weeks of negotiations with Bologna.
Having agreed personal terms with Arsenal two weeks ago, Calafiori will sign a five-year deal with the Gunners soon.
Arsenal have taken their time in getting off the mark this summer in the market but did so with the addition of youngster Charlie Setford.
However, the main focus has been on Riccardo Calafiori with the Italy international the main target in north London this summer.
The Gunners are now over in the United States for their pre-season tour and Edu Gaspar has now shared a joke about his expected new signing.

What Edu Gaspar recently said about Riccardo Calafiori
A conclusion to the race for the Italian’s signature is now coming to an end having had the ‘Here We Go’ from Fabrizio Romano.
Mikel Arteta is wanting Calafiori to join up with his new Arsenal teammates in America – even if he is not ready to play just yet.
The Spaniard feels the pre-season tour would be the perfect opportunity for Calafiori to bond with the players who he will be battling for the Premier League title alongside this season.
Over in the States, it seems those within the club are no longer keeping much of a secret over Calafiori’s expected arrival.

According to Hayters journalist Nick Callow, the Arsenal sporting director has already been sharing some jokes with the media about the imminent arrival of the centre-back.
“When I was lucky enough to be at the Arsenal training ground on Monday, I saw Edu and I said to him: ‘Where’s Riccardo Calafiori?’ Callow said.
“And he [Edu] said: ‘He’s inside.’ A little joke and he walked off.”
Arsenal adding some serious talent to their defence
Coming out of the 2023/24 campaign as the Premier League’s strongest defence, Arsenal had no pressing need to add to their backline.
But they look set to do so with one of the real bright sparks from Euro 2024 with Calafiori picking up from where he left off in Serie A.
What will be interesting to see is what this means for some of the current left-backs at the Emirates.
There is claims Jakub Kiwior could be set to leave Arsenal with interest coming from Serie A.
However, Oleksandr Zinchenko is also at risk of being sold by Arsenal this summer with Calafiori set to sign.
Either way, Arsenal fans will feel they are massively improving their options if either of these two players are to head off over the coming weeks.
