Journalist Dean Jones has told Give Me Sport that he has learned that Tottenham Hotspur view Isaiah Jones as a bigger priority than Djed Spence this summer.
Spence has been heavily linked with a move to Tottenham. In fact, reports claimed that Spurs were just £3 million away from meeting his asking price in January.

They remain in the running. And it was suggested that they are favourites to sign the ‘unbelievable’ Middlesbrough loanee this summer. However, perhaps it may be another player on the books at the Riverside Stadium who finds themselves higher up the wishlist.
Recent reports have suggested that Tottenham want Jones. The 22-year-old has enjoyed a real breakout year having gone into the campaign without making his Championship debut.

He has nine assists in the second tier. And his namesake has suggested that Tottenham may actually want Jones more than Spence.
“From what I’m told, Isaiah Jones has actually emerged as a player of higher priority for Tottenham in the next window,” he told Give Me Sport.
Tottenham preferring Isaiah Jones says a lot given Spence’s form
Spence is a player many clubs appear to be looking at. Fabrizio Romano suggested that Bayern Munich had already made contact concerning a potential move for the defender, who is currently on loan with Nottingham Forest.
So it says a lot that Tottenham may view Jones as a bigger priority for the summer.
Of course, Antonio Conte got the chance to study Jones up close when Spurs faced Middlesbrough in the FA Cup. Chris Wilder has also labelled him an ‘exciting‘ player.
Jones has showcased more of his versatility this term. He has featured all over the pitch for Wilder’s side, including up front in their opening game of the campaign against Fulham.
Spence is the player everyone has been raving about, particularly with the 21-year-old shining in Forest’s cup run.
But perhaps Tottenham feel that Jones may be the youngster with the even higher ceiling.
