Journalist says Tottenham star's now spoken to boss about move

Tanguy Ndombele has now spoken to José Mourinho on the phone about the possibility of the Tottenham Hotspur midfielder joining Roma on loan, according to Telefoot journalist Julien Maynard.

Ndombele continues to be the topic of debate following his actions at the weekend. He angered many Spurs fans by leaving the field incredibly slowly as they chased an equaliser in the FA Cup.

Antonio Conte had hoped to keep Ndombele at Tottenham. It was reported this week that the Spurs boss felt that he could get the 25-year-old to up his work-rate.

However, the Daily Mail reported that the Italian is now open to Ndombele leaving. The problem, of course, is that he earns £200,000-a-week and cost Tottenham £65 million.

Reports suggested that he was offered to AC Milan on loan as Tottenham attempted to sign Franck Kessie. Milan however, rejected the bid.

Moving Ndombele on would be a big boost. And perhaps it may be Spurs’ former boss who is set to offer the club the chance to offload him this month – albeit temporarily.

Telefoot journalist Maynard has claimed that Mourinho has spoken to Ndombele on the phone about a potential loan. He also suggested that Napoli were monitoring the situation.

Mourinho may be about to do Tottenham a huge favour as he targets Ndombele loan for Roma

It is a surprise to see Mourinho target Ndombele. He did not exactly get the best out of him either – despite once labelling his improvement ‘phenomenal‘. And he is under pressure after blasting his squad in the wake of their defeat to Juventus.

But Tottenham will surely not mind if the Giallorossi make a good offer. As things stand, Spurs will do incredibly well to recoup a decent fee for Ndombele.

So loaning him to Roma is worth a roll of the dice. Mourinho has shown that he can still get the best out of players.

If Ndombele shines in the Italian capital, selling him in the summer may be much easier. And Tottenham can potentially demand a much greater sum than they would perhaps get now.
