Journalist Ryan Taylor has told Give Me Sport that he understands that Newcastle United have already made a big pre-contract offer for Ousmane Dembele ahead of the summer.
Dembele looks set to be linked with some stunning moves over the coming months. His contract at Barcelona expires at the end of the season.

The end of the January transfer window saw the Frenchman linked with a raft of Premier League sides. Various reports claimed that Tottenham, Everton and Chelsea wanted or held talks with the 24-year-old.
It remains to be seen if any of the trio make a move ahead of the summer. But it would appear that Newcastle have attempted to steal a march on their rivals.

The Magpies were incredibly busy in January. And the very early signs suggest that Eddie Howe’s men are now in with a fantastic chance of staying in the Premier League.
Certainly, some of their rivals will be worried about the prospect of Newcastle avoiding relegation. And that is because of the potential they could have in the summer.
It definitely seems that they have massive plans. Taylor has now claimed that Newcastle have made contact with Dembele and confirmed their interest with an offer.
“From what I understand, they’ve already made an offer to his agent for a pre-contract agreement, quite a big one as well. So, there is interest in Dembele,” he told Give Me Sport.
Signing Ousmane Dembele would be a huge statement of intent from Newcastle
When Newcastle’s takeover went through, they were quickly linked with almost every single marquee player around.
It soon became apparent however, that their progress would be more gradual.
The summer could be a different story if they stay up. And thus, it would be foolish to write off their hopes of signing someone with Dembele’s stature.
He has not lived up to expectations since his £97 million move. But he has ‘world-class‘ potential.
And crucially, his arrival would be a real statement of intent regarding what is to come from Newcastle.
