Dean Jones has told The Football Terrace that he believes that James Maddison would be open to joining Tottenham Hotspur amid reports that Spurs want the Leicester City star this summer.
Maddison has often been linked with a move from the King Power Stadium. And he went into this summer off the back of a stunning campaign in the Premier League, with 12 goals and eight assists coming in the top-flight. In total, he scored 18 and provided 12 assists.

Reports in April suggested that Tottenham and Arsenal both wanted Maddison with Antonio Conte a big fan. Leicester meanwhile, were holding out for £60 million for the England international.
Spurs have been linked again in the last few days. Conte has welcomed a number of signings. And Tottenham are now looking towards the icing on the cake additions in the final weeks of the window.

Jones does not believe that Maddison would turn Tottenham down if they come calling. However, the journalist noted that Leicester are going to hold out for a huge fee for the attacking midfielder.
“I do believe that James Maddison has the ambition to move on, I think he’s ready to step up and I think that he’d definitely be open to a move to Tottenham,” he told The Football Terrace.
“I’m just not sure whether that opportunity’s going to open up unless Tottenham offer an awful lot of money.”
Maddison would take the opportunity to join Tottenham
Signing Maddison would be a huge statement from Tottenham. There have been times when his form has dipped, and Leicester have needed more from him.
However, he was absolutely at his best last season. Brendan Rodgers has suggested that he has been ‘sensational‘. And at 25, the next couple of years could definitely see Maddison improve further.
Spurs would have one of the most devastating attacking lineups in the Premier League if they signed Maddison.
And it seems that he would welcome the chance to make the move if Tottenham had a bid accepted.
