Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal are set to battle to sign James Maddison from Leicester City this summer, with The Sun suggesting that he could cost £60 million.

Maddison has been superb for much of the season for the Foxes. He has scored eight goals and contributed four assists for Brendan Rodgers’ men in the Premier League. In all competitions, he has 13 goals and eight assists.

Nevertheless, Leicester could sell Maddison this summer. His contract at the King Power Stadium has just over two years left to run.

And The Sun suggests that both Tottenham and Arsenal want the attacking midfielder in the summer.

Arsenal were heavily linked with Maddison before signing Martin Odegaard permanently last year. Meanwhile, The Sun is now suggesting that Antonio Conte is a massive fan of the 25-year-old.

Leicester are not ruling out selling Maddison in the next window. They could look to sell him to raise funds to strengthen the squad as a whole.

James Maddison could be a brilliant signing for Arsenal or Tottenham

Maddison has scored 40 goals in 160 appearances for Leicester. Meanwhile, he has provided 28 assists. His form has dipped at times. However, he has been excellent this year. And he has scored seven in his last 15 Premier League games.

At one stage, Rodgers labelled his form ‘inspirational‘. He previously described him as ‘sensational‘. So he could definitely be a fantastic signing for either Tottenham or Arsenal.

Both are likely to be playing European football next season. So they need to add greater depth to their squads in the months ahead.

Maddison has scored more goals than all but two players in both the Arsenal and Tottenham squads this season.

So there may well be plenty of Gunners or Spurs fans who would be in favour of such a deal.
