RAI journalist Ciro Venerato has now revealed that Arsenal and Manchester United want to sign Newcastle United’s January target Fabian Ruiz this summer – and he’s available for a bargain fee!
The Spaniard, who has been at Napoli since 2018, is undoubtedly one of the best central midfielders in the Serie A. He has been absolutely brilliant for the Partenopei over the last four years, but it now looks like he’s set for a new challenge elsewhere.
Ruiz will enter the final year of his contract in July, and this is Napoli’s last chance to make good money off him.
It looks like they’re prepared to do exactly that, and the talented 26-year-old is not short of suitors.
Journalist: Arsenal and Manchester United want to sign Fabian Ruiz
Ruiz’s age, quality and experience make him an asset for Napoli, and in ideal circumstances, he would be worth a ton of money in today’s market.
However, the length of his contract has caused his value to drop significantly, and he’s now up for sale for a very affordable fee in the upcoming summer transfer window,
Venerato told La Domenica Sportive Estate, as quoted by Napoli Magazine: “De Laurentiis (Napoli owner) would like to give away Fabian Ruiz, valued at €30 million (£25m).
“And, on him are Arsenal and Manchester United.”

Newcastle failed with £42m bid in January
Newcastle United were very active in the January transfer window and Napoli star Ruiz was among the names Eddie Howe was interested in signing.
Corriere dello Sport revealed in March that the Magpies tried to sign two Napoli stars – Ruiz and Victor Osimhen – and even tabled bids for both players.
The report claims that Newcastle bid about £42 million for the Spanish midfielder, who has been branded as ‘extraordinary’ by Daniel Stendel. That move didn’t materialise then, and Arsenal could now take advantage.
If Venerato is to be believed, Ruiz is available for just £25 million, and that really is a bargain for a player of his quality.
