Journalist says Arsenal are now back in talks to sign Youri Tielemans

Football journalist Alex Crook has revealed that Arsenal are back in talks to sign Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans this summer.

The Gunners have completed the signing of Marquinhos, Matt Turner, Fabio Vieira and Gabriel Jesus so far, but Mikel Arteta is still keen to add a few more players to bolster his squad.

One area of the pitch which is being viewed as a priority is central midfield. Arsenal have been linked with quite a few names over the last few months, but none more than Tielemans.

Those rumours had calmed down over recent weeks, but if Crook is to be believed, Arsenal are right back in the race to sign the Belgian this summer.

Reports revealed not to long ago that Arsenal had cooled their interest in Tielemans and were looking at other options. That bafffed a large section of the fan base as many supporters feel signing him is a no-brainer.

Thankfully for Gooners, it looks like Arsenal haven’t given up just yet, and Crook has revealed that the Gunners are now right back in talks to seal a deal for the talented 25-year-old.

The journalist told GiveMeSport: “The Tielemans signing, one minute they’re [Arsenal] in, then they’re out, and then they’re back in for him again.

“I think they are back in again, as talks have ramped up.”

He has a ‘soft spot’ for the Gunners

Arsenal are a massive club with a humongous fan following around the world. There are many top footballers who really admire the Gunners as well, and Tielemans is apparently one of them.

Just a few days ago, journalist Ben Jacobs revealed that Tielemans would pick Arsenal over any other club in the Premier League this summer because he has a ‘soft spot’ for the Gunners.

Playing for Arsenal is apparently one of the Belgian’s dreams, and having been close to moving to the Emirates once already in the past, he’s not going to say no if the opportunity presents itself again.

Tielemans, branded as ‘incredible’, would be a great signing for Arsenal, and it’s good for Gunners fans that Edu has ramped talks up.
