Journalist reckons £65m attacker could genuinely end up at Tottenham

Tottenham Hotspur are searching for a new striker as they look to replace Harry Kane one year on from his move to Bayern Munich.

Spurs need to sign a new striker this summer, and Tottenham have been strongly linked with a move for Dominic Solanke.

The England international is said to be someone Tottenham are very keen on, and according to Steve Kay, speaking on KS1 TV, this deal could well get over the line.

Indeed, according to Kay, Solanke is a concrete target for Spurs, and this is a deal that could indeed happen this summer.

Dominic Solanke could join Tottenham

The journalist shared what he knows about the striker.

“Yeah he has a release clause. I think it’s around £60m/£65m. Yeah, and Bournemouth, from what I know, they won’t let him go for any less than that. He is their star striker,” Kay said.

“Tottenham like him and there have been talks and from what I’m hearing there is concrete interest, it is solid, it could happen, but I agree it is a lot of money for someone who has had one season who is ok.”

Who Tottenham could sign instead of Dominic Solanke

As Kay says, this deal could happen, but at £65m, it is a lot of money.

This would be a club-record deal for Tottenham, and this isn’t a deal that Spurs will sanction lightly.

According to Dean Jones, a move for Ivan Toney could be more realistic.

“He’s too expensive he’s £65m (Solanke), if Richarlison leaves Tottenham then maybe, but without that I don’t see how it’s plausible, I’d say Ivan Toney is much more realistic,” Jones said.

Whether it’s Toney or Solanke, it looks as though Tottenham will be signing a new striker this summer, and either man would be a fantastic option.

Spurs could be on the brink of something exciting in the upcoming season as they look to add a new striker to the fold.
