‘Pochettino back to Tottenham’: Journalist makes huge prediction involving Conte

TalkSPORT’s Alex Crook believes it’s looking nailed on that Mauricio Pochettino replaces Antonio Conte at Tottenham in the future.

Pochettino has been linked with a return to the club ever since he left. A difficult spell with PSG has seen him out of work again in recent times, with Aston Villa said to be desperate to bring him in to replace Steven Gerrard.

Back at Tottenham, Antonio Conte is getting pressure from some directions due to tactics and the fact he hasn’t committed to the club long-term. And predicting the future on TalkSPORT last night, journalist Alex Crook believes it’s written in the stars for Pochettino to come back.

“Can I make a little prediction? A little look into my crystal ball. I’ll tell you what happens at Tottenham in the future,” Crooks said on TalKSPORT last night.

“Antonio Conte, yet to agree to a new contract. Juventus, Max Allegri under huge pressure. Conte goes back to Juventus while Mauricio Pochettino – wanted by Aston Villa – distances himself from that job cos he’s waiting for something bigger. Pochettino back to Tottenham. That is what’s going to happen, you heard it here first.”

Whether or not this comes to fruition, remains to be seen. But the longer Conte refuses to commit himself to Spurs, the more the rumour mill will gather pace.

The problem with Conte’s complaints in interviews and then subsequent refusal to sign long-term deals means that as soon as results dip, like they are now, people will question him.

Of course, Crook is simply making a prediction here and there isn’t necessarily anything behind his comments other than his own thoughts.

However, this isn’t the most outlandish call either and Spurs fans will have some concerns when it comes to Conte at the moment.
