Arsenal have reportedly been eyeing Tammy Abraham over the past few weeks.

However, the Gunners haven’t succeeded in signing the England international.

And Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is apparently not happy about the Gunners’ failure to land Abraham.

On Tuesday, Abraham completed his move from Chelsea to Roma.

Speculation linking the 23-year-old with Jose Mourinho’s side intensified over the weekend.

On Sunday, The Athletic reported that Abraham had agreed to join Roma in a £34million deal.

The following day, Sky Sports journalist Kaveh Solhekol provided the apparent view from the Arsenal camp.

“Mikel Arteta wanted him,” he said (7:49pm, 16/8/21).

“We have been told today (Monday) that Mikel Arteta is upset about the fact that Arsenal didn’t get Tammy Abraham and he has gone to Roma.”

Will Arsenal regret missing out on Abraham?

Speculation linking Arsenal with Abraham split the fanbase over the past few weeks.

But despite being from Chelsea, it’s not like this was a Willian or David Luiz type signing.

At 23, Abraham has done well at the highest level, is yet to reach his peak, and would’ve had considerable resale value.

Jack Grealish previously described Abraham as “unbelievable” and said he “loved playing with him”, which shows how much quality he has.
