Arsenal chief Josh Kroenke has admitted he had goosebumps by what Arsenal fans did during the game against Everton last season.

The good feeling has returned to Arsenal over the last couple of years which hasn’t always been the case under the Kroenke’s ownership.

The appointment of Mikel Arteta and the trust to keep him in post has paid dividends for The Gunners as they’ve now cemented themselves as genuine title challengers.

With that said, Kroenke has now spoken in a recent interview about what Arsenal fans did that left him with goosebumps.

Josh Kroenke had goosebumps during Everton game

In a recent interview with ESPN, Josh Kroenke revealed how amazed he was at the support of Arsenal fans following the 2-1 win against Everton on the final day last term – which saw Manchester City crowned Premier League champions.

“I was showing someone a video the other day after our last match of last season, it was 45 minutes after the match but the only people who had left was the away section [Everton fans],” he says.

“It was full all the way around. We’ve always had great support, but to see that love for Mikel and the players and for them give it back, that was a goosebumps-type moment for me.”

Mikel Arteta will be keen to go one better

Whilst the support was unwavering from Arsenal fans last term, despite falling short, Mikel Arteta will be desperate to go one better this time around and finally pip City to the title.

With the addition of Riccardo Calafiori and potentially Mikel Merino and an attacker to follow, The Gunners are well-placed to win the league for the first time since 2004.

They’ve got solid foundations and perhaps just need a prolific striker to complete the side.

In other news, £55m winger who Arsenal want to sign has already hailed Mikel Arteta for helping him.
