‘I should be thanking him’: Jordan Henderson says ‘brilliant’ Liverpool star is making his life easy

Liverpool midfielder, Jordan Henderson, has become the latest to lavish praise on new Liverpool signing Luis Diaz, after the Colombian winger got his first goal for the club yesterday.

Diaz finished expertly to send the Reds into a 3-1 lead against Norwich. But away from his goal, Diaz was exceptional all afternoon and showed just why Liverpool paid big money for him in January.

The goal came from a fine pass from Liverpool skipper Henderson. The experienced midfielder is still playing a vital role for Klopp’s men. However, Henderson was quick to deflect attention from his pass and instead, insisted that Diaz’s quality is making his life easy.

“He’s been brilliant since he came in. His work rate in training and games. His quality as well one versus one. His finishing you can see is top drawer as well. So I’m really pleased for him. Hopefully that will give him a boost in confidence to keep going.

“When he makes the run it’s easy to play the pass. It’s a great pass and finish so I should be thanking him,” Henderson told the BBC after the game.

There was bad news for Liverpool as well, though. After the game, Jurgen Klopp confirmed that Roberto Firmino will miss a period of time through injury. Diogo Jota also remains out.

TBR’s View: Diaz Already Looks Brilliant

It is almost like Luis Diaz has been with Liverpool for years. He’s only been on the books a matter of weeks but he’s already bought fully into the club and Klopp’s ethos.

If he continues like this, then catching Manchester City at the summit is a realistic possibility. The goals will continue to come for Diaz if he keeps making the runs and chances he is. In a nutshell, this looks like £40m+ very well spent by FSG already.
