John Obi Mikel has claimed that a former Chelsea teammate was, in fact, a better player than legend Didier Drogba.
The current Blues squad has a different look to the side that dominated the Premier League throughout the 2000s, but they appear to be back on the right track after a monumental 2-1 win against Liverpool.
Drogba is Chelsea’s second all-time goalscorer, having spent eight illustrious years at Stamford Bridge and won 12 major honours.
He is a beloved figure in West London and played a pivotal role in delivering success throughout his career in English football, particularly during Jose Mourinho’s first spell at the club.

However, Obi Mikel has shared the sensational claim that another player he played alongside in West London was one of the best he ever played with.
Eden Hazard was better at Chelsea than Didier Drogba
When speaking live on talkSPORT, the former Chelsea midfielder revealed Eden Hazard as the best he played with at Stamford Bridge, overlooking Drogba.
“I do have few players that I played with that is going to be in that league. I would imagine JT is going to be in there”
“Surely Eden Hazard should be there. He’s the best player that I played with.”
Hazard was one of the most exciting players to watch in the Premier League during his time with the Blues and was highly regarded as one of the best players in the world.

The Belgian departed for Real Madrid at the end of the 2018/19 season in a package worth a total of £150 million but he would only feature 54 times across his four years in Spain.
Several former teammates have accused Hazard of being too lazy in training, which was the main detrimental factor to what transpired in the latter years of his career but his performances on the pitch were among the very best.
The 34-year-old drew comparisons to Cristiano Ronaldo during the heights of his playing days at Chelsea with Ronaldo even named Hazard as one of the best young players in football in 2015.
Eden Hazard names his biggest Chelsea regret
Had Hazard opted against joining Real Madrid in 2019, he arguably could have been remembered as one of the greatest wingers to grace the Premier League.
For many Chelsea supporters he is – Hazard won every domestic trophy on offer during his seven-year spell at Stamford Bridge as well as winning the Europa League twice.
However, Hazard has one regret from his Chelsea career as he believes he could have been a serious candidate for the Ballon d’Or had the Blues won the Champions League rather than the Europa League in his final season.
“I wasn’t decisive enough to be on the podium of the Ballon d’Or. My only regret with Chelsea could be in 2019 we won the Europa League, but if we won the Champions League, I could’ve been on the podium. Maybe I missed that little extra to win the Ballon d’Or. Not talent, not pure football, but scoring goals in the important matches.”
