Manchester City cult hero Joe Hart has claimed that one of the players recently signed by the Etihad club is an absolute “monster”.
Things can change very quickly in football, and a Manchester City side some said was in the doldrums just last week is now firing on all cylinders.
The Citizens followed up their 3-0 derby hammering of Manchester United at the weekend with a solid 2-0 win over Napoli in their Champions League opener.
And one player who City recently signed has been praised by Joe Hart, both for what he brings to the club and for how he has fared so far.

Joe Hart says Gianluigi Donnarumma is a ‘monster’ of a signing for Manchester City
Man City were busy on the transfer front this summer and wrapped up their business with the signing of Gianluigi Donnarumma on deadline day.
The Italian keeper was made available by Paris Saint-Germain and Man City snapped Donnarumma up amid interest from Manchester United.
Donnarumma was thrust into the fold right away as he played against Man United and Napoli, keeping clean sheets on both occasions.
“You know, he’s done such a great job at PSG so far, and I think Manchester City’s ears pricked up,” Hart said on TNT Sports. “They saw an opportunity.
“They struggled last season, having been so dominant.
“I think, like I’ve said before, I think Pep was looking at having his last season, last season, finishing successfully, and getting himself out of there, but that didn’t happen. Football started to change, evolve.
“What does he need to be a real winner, like a winning side, scrap out wins and Donnarumma, how he performed in the Champions League, how he’s performed his whole career.
“He’s a monster of a goalkeeper. He makes huge saves for his team. He’s done it at international level. He’s done it at club level. And that was a good start from the weekend.”

How Gianluigi Donnarumma fared vs Napoli
Donnarumma was a pillar of stability against Napoli, the team that much of his family supports.
At the same time, the Italy captain did not have all that much to do against the Partenopei.

Donnarumma made one save in the first half, but after Giovanni Di Lorenzo was sent off, he was little more than a spectator.
That said, he was alert on the few occasions that he was tested, and come the final whistle, he retained his perfect record in sky blue thus far.
