Joe Hart claims Tottenham would’ve qualified for Europe this season if 60-year-old was their manager

Tottenham Hotspur are in the midst of what will undoubtedly be considered their worst Premier League season ever.

Spurs are, still, with two games to go, in danger of relegation, and while the odds are now stacked in their favour, there is still an outside chance that the north London club will be relegated come the end of the season.

Tottenham finished 17th last season too, and they look set for a similar league finish this time around.

Of course, a lot has changed since last season at Spurs, they’ve been through numerous managers since then, but according to Joe Hart, this season would’ve panned out very differently with one man at the helm.

Joe Hart says Ange Postecoglou would have Tottenham in Europe

Speaking to TNT Sports on TikTok, numerous pundits were asked a hypothetical question.

‘Agree or disagree: Ange Postecoglou would’ve secured European qualification with this Tottenham squad if he had stayed.’

Joe Hart agreed.

Postecoglou remains a divisive figure among Spurs fans. On one hand, he won the club’s first trophy in almost 20 years last season. But, on the other hand, he did take the team to 17th last year.

However, we do need to take into account the fact that Postecoglou basically threw the league results away in the back-half of last season to focus solely on that famous Europa League run.

Hart believes Postecoglou would have had Spurs in and around the top seven this season, but it’s hard to agree.

Spurs have had the same injury problems this year that plagued them last season – arguably even worse, while Postecoglou didn’t cover himself in glory with a short spell at Nottingham Forest where he was sacked after just a few weeks.

There are so many problems at Tottenham, and it’s hard to believe that Postecoglou would have been the man to solve many of these issues based on what we saw last season.
