Leeds United’s young forward, Joe Gelhardt, has said that he is feeling fitter than ever since making some changes to the way he did things.
Gelhardt has become one of the darlings of Elland Road with his performances at the back end of last season and now this and there are high hopes among supporters that they have a star on their hands. Indeed, he was dubbed ‘incredible‘ by Jermaine Jenas after one particular piece of skill last year.

And Gelhardt, in a candid interview with Sky Sports, has claimed he is now fitter than ever after taking onboard advice from the club since arriving.
“I moved to Leeds and I was living in a house on my own, so I had to mature quickly. The nutritionist, Andy, helped me a lot. I would send him photos of what I was eating and he would give me ideas,” Gelhardt said.
“Before I joined Leeds, I didn’t really think it was that important. I had never had education on nutrition and stuff like that. I was eating the wrong food before games in the week. Once I finally got it right, my weight started coming down and my body fat percentage started coming down. I was much fitter, much lighter and I could run more.”
Gelhardt will be hoping to get in on the action this weekend when Leeds return to playing against Aston Villa on Sunday.
TBR’s View: Gelhardt A Leeds Star In The Making
Few young players take to the Premier League like a duck to water but Gelhardt is one of those. He looks brilliant whenever he plays and the club have signed a real talent here.
Gelhardt still has a long way to go, of course. But in terms of making an impact right now and being someone who the club know will get even better in the future, Gelhardt is the main man.
