Spurs could get their hands on Antoine Griezmann with the right bid, according to Barcelona president, Joan Laporta.

Griezmann is one of a number of Barca players said to be on the chopping block this summer, as they Catalan giants try to arrest their dire financial situation.

Reports this week have already suggested that Griezmann has been offered to Spurs and Daniel Levy. It is believed Barca are touting the Frenchman about in the hope of getting him off the books this summer.

And now, club president Laporta has seemingly invited offers for the Frenchman by admitting they’ll consider offers for him.

“Griezmann is a player that has a market, with clubs interested, and we are building the squad searching for a financial equilibrium,” Laporta told Mundo Deportivo.

“With Antoine, we don’t have any problem, we love him. But if the market moves, we are open to all offers because we are in a delicate moment where we have to balance financial fair play.”

Griezmann hasn’t quite hit the heights he did with Atletico while with Barca. He did, however, score 20 goals in all competitions last season.

The World Cup winner moved to the Nou Camp in a mega-money move worth around £107m back in 2019.

World-class…but money dependant

Spurs would love nothing more than to get their hands on some genuinely world-class players, and Griezmann is one.

However, this would need to work financially for Spurs. How much Barcelona want for Griezmann remains unknown, while he’s also likely to be on big money.

Of course, should Harry Kane go, then Griezmann becomes a realistic option. But for now, he’s probably going to command too much, and at 30, Spurs could also look elsewhere for better value.
